The Apollo Explorer Scout Group Welcome's You To Their Site!

Why is 2007 important?

2007 is Scouting's centenary. That means it was 100 years since Lord Baden Powell, took 20 boys to Brownsea Island on an experimental camp. This was the beginning of Scouting, 100 years ago on August 1st 2007. And the Movement has been growing ever since then!
There are going to be Loads or activities going on within our District, County and Country! The main event of the year will be on the 1st of August when all (Well hopefully all) Scouts, Cubs, Beaver, Explorers etc in the world will remake their promises together!
We went to the Central Yorkshire centenary camp, where we camped as district explorers...
It was immense fun... [please see seperate page]
Sunrise Ceremony will take place on 1st August at Nostell Priory, no place for explorers to put up tents...
but who's going to sleep?!
